$16 DMG Designs allows you easier access to creating and customizing disk images. Although aimed mainly at developers of MacOS software anyone you uses disk images can benefit from DMG Designs. DMG Designs allows you to set up options for each of your products and then with a simple click, DMG Designs can create and populate the image, set window options, include a background image, volume icon, symbolic link to the applications folder and more. When satisfied with the layout one more click will convert the image and prepare it for product delivery, including the ability to make it internet-enabled, adding Software License Agreements (SLA's) and calculating MD5 or SHA-1 checksums! No other product can do all that DMG Designs can and yet the others are more expensive. All of our products are packaged with DMG Designs.
Free! Checksum Validator is a simple application that will generate and compare checksums (either SHA-1 or MD5 digests). More sites are displaying checksums that you can compare to your downloaded file to ensure that you indeed downloaded the correct copy and that it is a "clean" copy or at least matches what the developer has. MacOS X includes the tools necessary to calculate checksums and compare "by hand" the results. This just makes the process simpler and quicker. |
