Kingdom Era

Product Registration/Validation

Product Registration/Activation and Validation Policy

All of our products (that aren't freeware, that is) require registration/activation and some require recurring validation over the internet. Therefore our products can really only be used on computers that are able to connect to the internet - at least once. The connection only has to be on when first registering and then, for those that require recurring validation, only occasionally after that.

For those products that require recurring validation, part of your software license is that you accept the fact that our software needs to be validated at recurring intervals. The validation will be done in the background whenever it can and only takes a few seconds. If the program goes too long without validation it will revert back to unregistered until such time that it can be re-validated. The definition of "too long" depends on which product and how much it is used. It can be anywhere from 6 to 18 months with the average more around 10-12 months.

Registering

To register you'll need both your license code and your Kingdom Era's customer ID. Your ID is made up of your name and email address. We do our best at allowing you to use non-standard ASCII characters in your name for those who may have accents, umlauts, etc., in their name. If your email program (or an email server along the way) doesn't honor the standard UTF-8 character set your ID may become garbled and not work. In that case, in the email you receive from Kingdom Era, you can find your ID encoded in base-64 near the bottom of the email. You can paste that into the registration panel's Name/ID field also, and it will automatically be decoded into the proper format.

Note: make sure to safely store away, and backup, your license code so that you have it in case you ever need to enter it again. Also, be careful that your license code doesn't get out since it will only activate a certain number of machines. If you get rid of a computer that has one of our application's on it, you should first de-activate the license code on it so that your code is freed up to allow an activation on another machine. You can remove an activation from the "Manage Registrations" menu item in the application menu.
